Where YDLM1300B Lamination Fits in a Metallic Cardboard Workflow

The YDLM1300B is a gantry-type laminating and coating machine for gold and silver cardboard and aluminized transfer paper. Its listed processes include wet lamination, film peeling, back coating and drying. Review the model specifications alongside the project requirements below.

Define the output of the lamination stage

Gold and silver card in this application means metallic-finish paperboard, not plastic payment cards or a desktop pouch-lamination process. Begin with the required semi-finished material: its substrate layers, surface finish, coating side and delivery format. The laminator should be evaluated as one part of that material route, rather than as a complete box-making line.

Agree the process sequence for the actual structure

Printing, lamination, transfer, coating and later converting do not have one universal order. Share the proposed material construction and artwork requirements with the supplier and downstream converter. Identify which listed YDLM1300B processes are needed, which occur elsewhere, and what material condition is required at each handover. Do not presume a coating or drying stage makes every laminate ready for immediate conversion.

Plan roll and quality handovers

The listed effective working width is 600–1200 mm. Match the incoming and outgoing roll specifications to the agreed configuration, including cores, dimensions and handling arrangements. At each handover, retain the job reference, material batch, accepted finish sample and relevant inspection result. Agree which team releases material to the next process and how nonconforming rolls will be identified.

Check the next process before choosing capacity

A lamination trial should include the relevant downstream operation, such as printing or conversion when required by the job. Judge usable output and the finished appearance rather than line speed alone. Confirm storage, waiting time, inspection space and transfer responsibilities so the laminator does not simply move a bottleneck to another area.
