Integrating a YD Shaftless Sheeter into a Paper Packaging Workflow

The YD1300 and YD1400 positioning sheeters convert packaging paper and board from rolls into sheets. Shaftless describes the roll-handling arrangement; it does not mean the whole machine has no mechanical shafts. Review the model specifications alongside the project requirements below.

Define the roll-to-sheet task

Identify which incoming paper or board rolls must become which finished-sheet formats. The sheeter is one step in the packaging workflow, not an automatic substitute for printing, lamination or box conversion. The selected process sequence depends on the material route. Document whether the roll arrives printed or unprinted and what the next operation requires.

Agree the incoming-material handover

Share paper grade, grammage, width, roll diameter, mass, core details and batch identification. Include any print-position requirement and representative samples. The listed YD paper-width ranges are 700–1200 mm and 700–1300 mm for the two models, while cut lengths are 400–1200 mm. Check the complete job against the proposed configuration instead of selecting by nominal width alone.

Set the finished-sheet acceptance requirements

Agree length, squareness, edge condition, surface appearance and stacking or pallet requirements with the downstream team. Keep the sample and inspection method consistent between departments. If a printed job requires positional accuracy, establish the reference and measurement method explicitly. A sheeter specification alone does not prove that the next process can accept every material or format produced.

Plan buffers and responsibilities

Show where incoming rolls, accepted sheets and held material will wait, and how they will move through the workshop. Coordinate production planning with inspection and downstream availability. Do not assume direct in-line synchronization or a shared control interface unless it is part of the confirmed supply scope.
