Choosing a DWLX Double Rotary Sheeter for Packaging Board Jobs

The DWLX1300L and DWLX1400L double rotary sheet cutters are designed for paper and packaging board. The product specifications distinguish material width, cut length, roll handling and stacking requirements for the two models. Build a representative job matrix

List paper grades, grammage, roll width, finished-sheet dimensions, order sizes and any printed-position requirements. Separate confirmed orders from speculative future applications. Include the surface and stacking standards expected by the next process. This matrix helps the supplier judge a machine against actual demand rather than a vague request for the fastest available sheeter.

Choose width and format before output targets

DWLX1300L lists material width of 400–1250 mm; DWLX1400L lists 400–1400 mm. Both list cut lengths of 450–1400 mm. Check these ranges against the material purchased and the sheets needed downstream. The cutter-load limit is stated as no more than 550 g/m² subject to density and quality, so grammage alone should not be used to approve an unfamiliar board.

Evaluate complete-job performance

The catalogue separately states line speed and sheets-per-minute ranges. They are not interchangeable, and maximum values should not be assumed simultaneously at every sheet length. Request an agreed trial using representative material, with records of accepted sheets, dimensional quality, edge condition and handling interruptions. Evaluate start-up loss and changeover requirements as part of the production plan, not as unexplained exclusions.

Review the whole purchase scope

Compare roll handling, stacking, utilities, site access, documentation, training and service arrangements. Ask for a written list of standard and optional functions and a model-specific layout. Confirm how the machine will hand finished stacks to printing or converting. A purchasing decision should connect acceptable sheet quality with practical workshop flow.
